Hot Fun gives way to One Summer Dream...

"Release shortly after the band's appearance at Woodstock," Alec Kerr says of Sly in the Family Stone's 'Hot Fun in the Summertime' (1969), "this became a big hit that, thanks to powerhouse vocals and catchy horns, remains a classic of the era."

And then something a little quieter, 'One Summer Dream' by Electirc Light Orchestra (1975). Alec says, "A beautiful ballad that like many Electric Light Orchestra songs recalls John Lennon. Jeff Lynn has a tendency to over-produce, but when he lets the music breathe he can soar as high as Lennon."
