In Winter

A poem by Molly Canfield, 5th grade.

In Winter

In winter there’s no sunrise No pretty pinks and blues To meld the night to day Now there’s only light and darkness To separate the light and dark When light begins to grow The darkness eats itself Until all is only light and day

In winter there’s no sunset No pretty pinks and reds No auburn light to fill the sky No, it is just light and darkness In winter you wish To have the pretty colors to light the day No, there is only light and darkness To fill the winter day
