A poem by Peggy Johnson, of Wonalancet:
Welcome, ancient snow that covers everything we have needed and loved in our brief summer
Remove and erase our desires with the woodpile and the leaves the forgotten toys and the path
Make this a wilderness where we can practice navigating the unknown places our hearts
Teach us that our falls are cushioned by you even when you caused them oh wilderness and unknown
Let me not try to sweep you too soon away from my step or carve a new path let me watch the new world make itself
Let me love the shroud you lay on everything Let me learn to love your secrets and let me pray for snow.
