“Watershed Art Happening” will showcase local natural resources

The Green Mountain Conservation Group (GMCG) and the Youth Coalition for Clean Water (YCCW) welcome Tamworthians interested in participating in Wonders of the Ossipee Watershed, an art exhibit that will be displayed at Camp Calumet on July 28th. The “Art Happening” will include painting, sculpture, dance, poetry and other media to highlight the importance of our natural resources. Artists of all disciplines, naturalists, adults and youth from around the Watershed are invited to a brainstorming session at the Lyceum in Tamworth on Monday April 30th. Ideas from this meeting will be put into play at a “creativity day” on Saturday May 19th from 10am-1pm at Runnells Hall in Chocorua. At this event young emerging artists will have the opportunity to work with local artists using a variety of mediums to create artwork for the July 28th event. The creativity day is open to anyone interested in creating art. Wonders of the Ossipee Watershed will take its inspiration from the natural resources found in this area and will include resources such as water, star studded dark skies, vernal pools, wildlife, forests, mountains, and clean air. GMCG and YCCW invite artists in the community to create a mixed-media exhibit that will convey the importance of conserving unique natural resources.
