From Roger Sorlien:
Okay friends, here's the deal. Katie O'Connell, Samantha Tracy and I are opening for Don White next Wednesday, May 9 in North Conway in the inaugural new Drylongso music series. We'd love to have you join us for this performance. It's going to be a great time and yes we realize it's way out of the way for all of you. But as I've always, always said, "Who wouldn't want to go to North Conway on a Wenesday evening, right?" We are doing this one because we believe in Raetha, love playing together and need more performance experience (read no pay haha). You'll be getting a huge treat by seeing Don White.
Please take a look at this clip of Don White's accordion door story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaFiU31bd94&list=UUYZ0EmwlP0HEIiDkma8fiNA&index=1&feature=plcp
This is the first show for Raetha Stoddard's new Drylongso series. If you're from Tamworth and Sandwich you remember the old Drylongso she ran with Annie Provenzano which featured national touring acts in the genres of singer-songwriter, blues, bluegrass, jazz, folk and so on. Raetha also cofounded the Ossipee Valley Music festival (my favorite). Well this one is more of the same and she's got the nicest little venue you've never heard of. A community based theater group called M&D Productions carved out a theater from scratch in part of the complex of buildings where Bellini's Restaurant used to be on the North Conway strip. Seats about 100 and has very nice acoustics.
Hope to see you there,
Here's the short form version of the above ramblings:
Don White is hands down one of the funniest guys on the planet and one of the most poignant, too. He'll have you laughing and crying. Don't adjust your meds—it's a normal occurrence at a Don White Show.
May 9th, 7:30 PM, doors open at 6:30 PM
