Arts Council of Tamworth and The Community School are excited to offer a songwriting workshop with Athens, GA tunesmith Scott Baston of the band Saint Francis. The workshop will take place at The Community School in South Tamworth, NH on Friday, August 9 from 4:00-5:00 PM, and is free—donations welcome. Scott will focus on basic song structure, composition, lyrical content, and presentation. Beginner to experienced songwriters of all ages can benefit from the opportunity to work with this savvy teacher. Scott has been a performing, touring musician for over two decades, with three studio records, and one live recording as the front man of his former nationally touring rock/jam band, Moonshine Still. Saint Francis has two studio records already under their belt: One Of Many, and, soon to be released, Cassidy's Sky, recorded at the famed Omni Sound in Nashville, TN under the direction of Tommy Cooper, and Grammy-nominated producer John Keane, also from Athens. You can hear his solo work on Sound Cloud.
Come work with Scott on Friday and then hear him play on Saturday, August 10, alongside two other great bands, the Wall-Stiles from VT and our homegrown Starlight Honeys, at The Community School’s On the Banks of the Bearcamp Music Fest, 4:00 to 9:00 PM.
