Dear Thespians and Families,

The Snapdragon Children's Theatre Company is excited to announce its Spring production!
"Jaipur Wedding", to be performed at The Barnstormers Theatre on Thursday April 17th will be a specially written play set in glorious India! A richly colorful cast of characters, animal, human and supernatural, will prove once more that the course of good intentions, true love and the best-laid plans can go spectacularly wrong, even if there turns out to be a happy ending!
Rehearsal will begin in the Tamworth Townhouse on Wednesday March 19th, and run as follows:
Wednesday March 19th
Wednesday March 26th
Wednesday April 2nd—all from 4-6 pm.
We then shall move to the Barnstormers Theatre:
Monday April 7th
Wednesday April 9th
Wednesday April 16th, Dress Rehearsal
Thursday April 17th, PERFORMANCE 6.00 PM
Cost:  $70 per participant
As with all Snapdragon productions, our team of experienced teachers will maintain a low student-teacher ratio, to give as much small-group and individual attention to our actors as possible.
Our plays are custom-written, often with known actors in mind for particular parts, but we can also  discuss roles with new members of the cast. PLEASE REGISTER YOUR INTEREST AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE—we shall be planning preliminary casting in early March. (But, rest assured, we shall continue our long-standing practice of making sure all our actors have parts which give them their proper outing! We shall also get scripts out early whenever possible.
TO REGISTER INTEREST: please email us at the above address, or call 323-7477.

SNAPDRAGON call to families!

This is to remind all interested  families that the rehearsals for our April play Changing Masks at The Barnstormers Theatre begin with a meeting at TLC, 1131 Cleveland Hill Road on Wednesday, March 27th  at 3:45. We are confident that our cast will be about 30 students ages 5-13, but we can accommodate even more! Ideally, we would like to involve about 40 young people in a production with a lot of possibilities! Set in Venice around the late eighteenth-early nineteenth century, the play opens at the beginning of Carnival, the most famous festival in Europe. The plot concerns a whole neighborhood of the city, and centers on the rivalry of two patrician families, the Foscari and the Contadini, who for generations have sought to outshine each other..the rest of the cast is composed of gondoliers, priests, thieves, musicians, acrobats, glassworkers from Murano, visiting English aristocracy on the Grand Tour, a mask-maker and others who make up the rich tapestry of Venetian society. Nothing more can be divulged yet!

We have sent out notices before, but if anyone else is interested in joining us, please just come to TLC on Wednesday after school. This play will be serious fun!

Please call 323-7477 for any more information.

Snapdragon to offer mask-making workshop

mask_7026_smAs promised, Will Cabell is offering a mask-making class this winter. Participants will be able to make splendid masks to be used by their characters in Snapdragon's spring play. The class will have so much to learn from Will, who has the uncanny ability to bring cardboard, plaster and a huge variety of unlikely ingredients to vibrant life! This class is limited in size, and we need to make it for ages 9 plus because of the dexterity and focus required. DATES: (ALL ARE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS):  JANUARY 23, 30 and FEBRUARY 6, 13, plus one more. An additional final paint session may be required.

TIME:    3.45 - 5.30 PM

PLEASE CALL 323-7477 or 968-7952 to book a place.
