Tamworth Artisans Gallery in Chocorua is getting into the holiday mood by extending its hours to 9-6 on the weekend of December 16th to 19th (Friday-Monday). Stop in for a snack and drink and check out some recent Christmas additions. Janet has some new Christmas photo cards, Gail has photo Christmas ornaments as well as beautiful photo bookmarks priced at only $2.50. Perfect stocking stuffers! Myles has new mugs including a sheep mug! Not just any sheep but flying sheep. Unbelievably cute, and funny. They will sell fast, so stop in soon to place your order. Alan has some new sterling silver jewelry Christmas items as well as Mt. Chocorua earrings and necklaces. There is so much more. Our showroom has been recently redesigned and is more beautiful than ever. We have a wide selection of handmade items by over 20 local artists, people you probably know. Lots of wall art including watercolor paintings, oil paintings, framed photography, fabric art, wood carving, wood toys, knit items by Beverly for adults and children (and babies), a wide variety of pottery, vases, stone carvings by Val, floral wreaths, scarves, hand-painted furniture by Theo Page, a wide assortment of glass and metal jewelry, and all sorts and styles of note cards.
Many items are suitable for hostess gifts or Yankee swap items, not too expensive but rich in meaning. A locally made gift by someone you may know will be something to treasure and enjoy for a lifetime. You don’t have to spend a lot to get a lot—AND you will have the added satisfaction of supporting a local artist and our local economy. Also, don’t forget the Tamworth Artisans will be represented at the last Farmers’ Market at the Brett School on Dec. 17th. Drop by the gallery in the afternoon for some Christmas cheer and some local Christmas shopping. We are located across from Runnels Hall on Rt. 113 in Chocorua at Chocorua Pottery.

Tamworth has wonderful artists and craftsmen who produce items you won’t find anywhere else and that reflect the unique natural beauty of our town. Remember, a gift of a local artisan’s work is special, representing a personal connection to that artist as well as a showing of appreciation for that artist’s creative effort. Doesn’t the idea of “Made in Tamworth” sound much nicer and more meaningful than “Made in China?” Come visit the Tamworth Artisans Gallery and show your support for the arts and especially our local artists and craftsmen.
The Tamworth Artisans is a group of over twenty dedicated Tamworth artists and artisans who have partnered with Arts Council of Tamworth to show and market their work locally. We offer a great selection of handmade art and craft work including pottery, paintings in all mediums, photography, a wide variety of jewelry, note cards, stone carvings, wearable and useable fabric art, wood products, wooden toys, floral wreaths, scarves, hand-painted furniture and spectacular glass items.
