Film Series

Arts Council of Tamworth’s film program started almost as far back as the era of this phanakitoscope, back in the days of projectors and reels of film shipped from who-knows-where to Tamworth for one night only. As technology progressed, ACT began purchasing videos and then DVDs, including many foreign and indie films, and showing them at the Cook Memorial Library and the Moultonborough Library. These showings offer people in the Tamworth area a chance to get out for an evening and watch a movie together somewhere closer to home than Conway or Meredith. The movies, once shown, are added to the ACT film collection, which circulates through six local libraries—Tamworth, Chocorua, Madison, Sandwich, Moultonborough and Tuftonboro—enriching the libraries’ other film offerings. All of these films can be interlibrary-loaned between the libraries at any time. Click here for a  list of all the films in the ACT collection, and check back soon for info about ACT’s Fall 2009 Film Series.
