Job Opening: Executive Director (Part-Time)

Overview

ACT’s mission is to provide accessible arts and cultural opportunities that support diversity and community connection.

We seek an Executive Director who will be responsible for providing administrative, financial, and organizational assistance that enables ACT to realize this mission. (Systems for each are in-place.) This is a part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week). A three to five year commitment is expected.


Essential Functions and Duties

As Executive Director of the Arts Council of Tamworth, you will:

  • Plan, implement and coordinate assessment of artist residencies, performances, workshops, art activities and other events for the community and K.A. Brett School students. These may be grant-funded, business-sponsored, and revenue-neutral or -positive.

  • Coordinate efforts with Brett School administration and teachers, venues, other community organizations and town government, as needed, and maintain ACT’s visibility in the community.

  • Seek and secure grants, sponsors, organizational partnerships and volunteers for programs and events, and document them for grant evaluation purposes.

  • Provide marketing and PR support for all programs and projects, including maintaining ACT’s website, donor and supporter database and social media.

  • Create and disseminate materials (e-newsletters, annual appeal, donor/sponsor solicitation, etc.) that support the financial health of the organization.

  • Work closely with the Board treasurer and bookkeeper on data gathering, financial statements, and annual budget development.

  • Interact with the public, communicating information to relevant Board members or supporters.

  • Attend monthly Board meetings and work with the Board president to develop agendas that help guide the organization towards fulfilling its mission and goals.

  • Maintain clear records including those stored on Google Drive, and update materials including the Operational Manual as needed.


Job Specifications

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Must be curious and passionate about the arts, and committed to bringing a variety of arts programming for all ages to the greater Tamworth community.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and computer skills required.

  • The ability to work collaboratively with others both as a team member and as a team leader.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. A Master’s degree is preferred.

  • Demonstrated track record in creating innovative, compelling art programs desired.
